I gave birth to @imakemoneynotart when I was unemployed. I carried it for more than 9 months, closer to 4-5 years. It was originally meant to be a satirical capitalist-loving persona performance, but I returned to it with a different perspective in 2024. For a period of time, I put art aside to commodify my skills and push something more consumable to the forefront of my practice. Amidst the stress, moments of domesticity, collaboration, play and my love of knitting catch up to me and it seems I can't escape art no matter what. This project is brought to life with the help of Jackson Elhage and Andrea Yiannis who model/shoot/design/test/makeup/lighting/everything else in between. It operates between our bathroom, kitchen, dining table and our cat Cow who sits on top of my knitting machine.
